Responsibilities

  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients and colleagues

Madelia Health is looking for a Full Time or PRN Radiologic Technologist to Join Our Team!

Hours: This is a Full Time position 4 days per week that includes call rotation. Call is on rotation between four techs. If working as PRN the shifts would be on call at least one weekend per month.

Job Type: Full Time, 36 hours weekly

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of certified Radiologic Technology Program; ARRT Certified, current BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Experience: 1-2 CT experience preferred.
  • Certifications: ARRT (RT) required. Preferred ARRT (RT)(CT), or willing to obtain certification
  • Background study and pre-employment drug testing required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients for X-Ray/CT/DXA exams, positions patients based upon the type of procedure to be performed.
  • Administers contrast and starts IVs safely as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Adjusts switches regulating length and intensity of exposure.
  • Maintains quality assurance by performing appropriate validity tests and keeping quality assurance records, as required by Equipment Manual.
  • Reviews images in PACS prior to Radiologist review in PACS, send images as requested to outside facilities for continuity of care.
  • Positions patient under X-Ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices, and provides appropriate radiation protection.
  • Prepares reports and maintains records of services rendered.
  • Maintains and operates all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures.
  • Completes quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes.
  • Maintains supplies, cleans rooms and equipment, and stocks exam rooms.
  • Notifies supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected.
  • Manages patient flow and volume. Keeps patients informed of expected wait times
  • Responsible for clerical tasks associated with patient care and proper record keeping. Ensures accuracy in documentation.
  • Answers telephone as needed.
  • Attends staff meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

The Medical Technologist/Technician is responsible for specimen processing and for reporting test results in accordance with the policies and procedures of the laboratory.

***$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full Time Two-Year commitment***

Qualifications:

Education: The Laboratory Staff will be employed by Medical Technologists/Technicians that have met the following educational requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • An Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  • Have education or training equivalent to that obtained in an Associate Degree in laboratory services or medical technology from an accredited institution that includes:
    • 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that at a minimum includes:
      • 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology
      • 24 semester hours of science course that include
        • 6 semester hours of chemistry
        • 6 semester hours of biology
        • 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical technology
        • Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by an organization approved by HHS or
  • At least 3 months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.
  • Experience: Have laboratory training that includes either of the following:
  • Certifications: MLT or MLS

General Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results.
  • Only performs those high complexity tests that are authorized by the Laboratory Director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual’s education, training or experience, and technical abilities.
  • Each individual performing high complexity testing must:
    • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintenance of the records of patient test results.
    • Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
    • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
    • Follow the laboratory’s established policy and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance
    • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance of reporting of test results and either must correct the problem or immediately notify the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Laboratory Director.
    • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
  • Attends CPC’s workshops and in-services
  • Helps maintains patient files
  • Reports any incidents which have resulted in any type of injury to personnel or patients within the department.
  • Observe all Laboratory Safety rules.
  • Provide and maintain communication between the laboratory and other departments to ensure the flow of information in order to establish continuity of care.
  • Assists with any jobs delegated by the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor as needed.
  • Performs all necessary functions in the LIS System.
  • Complies with policies and regulations for the laboratory, hospital, federal agencies, and accreditation agencies (TJC and CLIA).
  • Participates in safety/emergency preparedness drills.
  • Participates on other committees as necessary.
  • Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Monitors inventory and replaces inventory as necessary.
  • Performs troubleshooting when necessary and notifies the appropriate people/company when equipment needs to be serviced or repaired.

  • The Nursing Assistant performs direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and within the scope of practice for a Nursing Assistant.

Position Summary:

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) collaborates with the clinical team to coordinate all aspects of patient care and transition in to and out of the hospital setting. The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for performing duties related to patient admission, transfer, and discharge, communication with patients, guests and staff, electronic health records maintenance, and other duties of a clerical nature. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience: Strong computer, communication, customer service skills required.
  • Health Care experience prior preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Greets and assists patients and visitors.
  • Admits and discharges patients, obtaining accurate data and verifying insurance information.
  • Registers patients for Urgent Care, Emergency Department and Surgery as needed
  • Covers at hospital registration desk as needed
  • Answers phones
  • Start inpatient precertification paperwork.
  • Assists with outpatient and surgery appointments
  • May be asked to call dispatch to summon the ambulance.
  • Assist with calling for additional staff to fill needs
  • Participates in in-service and educational programs.
  • Maintains department records, reports and files.
  • Facility typist.

  • Prepares any paper portions of charts and ensures items are sent to HIM when patient discharged.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
